picoCTF is a free Capture the Flag platform developed by Carnegie Mellon University’s CyberSecurity Lab. It’s designed to be welcoming for absolute beginners — high school students through early college — but the challenge library scales up enough to keep intermediate players engaged. The picoGym provides year-round access to past competition problems, making it a reliable first stop before tackling harder platforms.
